5 reasons Baker Mayfield has more endorsements than Lamar Jackson
Baker Mayfield has a host of endorsements and national commercial coverage despite having marginal success in the NFL. Bakers endorsements include Progressive, Nike, BodyArmor, Nissan, Hulu, Amazon, Panini America, and Allen Edmonds. The real question is why doesn’t Lamar Jackson have more? Lamar is a league MVP and has been to the playoffs the last 2 years and is widely regarded as the most exciting player in the NFL. Below might be a few reasons why this dynamic exists.
Baker came to the NFL as the #1 pick in the draft
Baker is from a bigger college market
Baker is more of a traditional NFL quarterback
Baker is white and has more of a mainstream look
Lamar Jackson appearance reminds corporate America of Micheal Vick
Lamar Jackson has his own clothing line called Era 8 Apparel. He is currently in federal court suing Amazon for “deliberate and unauthorized use” of his name, image, and persona. There is no doubt that the NFL was slow to embrace Lamar. Not sure if Lamar not hiring an agent before the draft upset the good ol’ boy network (racket) the NFL has going on. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that Lamar had to take the long route by winning the hearts of the people, and Baker didn’t.
